Forest Green Rovers

This was my first and so far only trip to Forest Green Rovers and a match that my Uncle and I decided to go to beacuse of the opponents that day, FC Halifax Town. Our freinds who are staunch supporters of FC Halifax were making the long trip down, so as the ground was not too far away and beacuse neither of us had ever been there before, we decided to go. On arrival in Nailsworth we went up a series of steep, narrow lanes which we could not envisage the football ground being at the top of, which to our suprise it was. One unusual aspect of the ground was that outside were two bright green cars depicted with Forest Green images that were being charged by electrical pumps. The club shop was also most unusaual, being only a small stand within the reception.

Being away supporters, we were housed on one of the terraces behind the goal, however the club did give us a number of seats within the main stand. I had never seen so few seats being given to an away team. We were only given about 50 out of a 2,000 seat stand. FC Halifax had to win and hope that Borehamwood and Guiseley both lost to move out of the relegation zone, in which they achieved by winning 1:0 . There were around 150 away supporters but I can tell you that it felt like there were more. Another unusual fact was that one of my freinds from Primary school was on loan at Forest Green from Birmingham City, but he unfortunately was neither in the starting 11 or on the bench.
